Approaching Thermal Equilibrium
PIRA: Unknown
Two identical aluminum blocks of different temperatures approach thermal equilibrium when laid on top of one another. Adding a paper insulator between the blocks dramatically affects the time it takes the blocks to reach thermal equilibrium. A laptop to run Logger Pro for this demo can be provided upon request. Note: The hot plate used in this demo takes several minutes to warm up. It is best to have it turned on well before performing the demonstration.
