Brewster
PIRA: Unknown
One student shines a flashlight with an oblique angle onto the surface of a large beaker of water. A second student holds a large polarizing sheet and tries to adjust the polarization direction. The reflected beam through the polarizer becomes dimmer when the polarization direction is close to vertical. The intensity variation is most striking when the incident angle is close to 53 degrees, the Brewster\'s angle.
