Field of a solenoid.
PIRA: Unknown
A solenoid is made of heavy conducting wire so that its axis is in the plane of a horizontal plexiglass. Iron filings are sprinkled on the sheet, as current is passed through the solenoid. The filings arrange themselves to show the characteristic field of a solenoid. The field lines are much more intense inside than outside of the solenoid.
