Curie point.
PIRA: Unknown
A Nickel wire is suspended between two supports and a small piece of magnet is suspended on the wire. A current (25 to 30 A) is passed through the wire until it becomes red hot. When the wire gets to Curie point (about 370 degree C), the wire loses its magnetic properties and the magnet will fall free from the wire. It may take one to several minutes before the wire to its Curie point.
