Friction of a sliding block
PIRA: Unknown
A wooden block having the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped is pulled across the lecture bench with a large dial balance. The block may be turned on different edges to show the independence of frictional forces on area. Another block with various types of surfaces can be used to show the effects of different kinds of contact planes.
