Grass seeds in E field

The lines of force are formed by grass seeds sprinkled on specially prepared glass plates containing various electrode arrangements. The plates are coated with a special polishing compound for decreasing friction and cohesion between the seeds and the glass. Special connecting posts and chains are used to connect the electrodes on the glass plates to a voltage source such as Wimshurst machine. The grass seeds will show the electrostatic field.
