Magnetic force on a wire.
PIRA: Unknown
Magnetic force on a wire.
A flexible wire is placed between the poles of a large alnico magnet. When current is sent through the wire in one direction, the wire vigorously jumps out the opening between the poles. When the current is reversed, the wire clings strongly to the "U" end of the magnet. The left hand motor rule can be established with this experiment.
